From the S2 emulator for KC team developer to all
Hi to all. In the future this nick will represent the members of the team who develop the current S2 firmware emulator for KnotCard.
First of all I want to stress that we choose this platform because no other really secure programmable card with cryptographic hardware support was available in the market when we decide to write down a publicly available emulator for S2. (Of course we are not related with the hardware or OS, KnotCard developers, but we know in detail this platform because we use such smartcard for other high security projects.). The card is someway priced, but we expect this situation be normalized in the short term.
This firmware is the result of own direct research over the V7.x original cards. We developed the first publicly available S2 emulator and the first one able to deal with the last countermeasures. No reverse engineering of other hacks has been done because we are interested in finding vulnerabilities in the original cards, and the files are only technological demonstrations of our research. We use a secure card because we don?t want to see people making profit from the result of our work without any contribution.
Don?t expect to see implementations of our findings in insecure platforms like Titanium Cards, CI modules or decoder?s virtual CAM: It?s not only a matter of space, speed or cryptographic primitives, but mainly security. Don?t loose your time trying to extract interesting information from the KnotCard if you weren?t able to extract it from an original card, in this case is far more difficult .
Some people seem to be nervous of loosing their big business. We don?t want to enter in such a war. If someone wants to sell first must be able to create a product, not just to reverse engineer the others findings.
The next release will include full 0064 support. And this is only the beginning?
Enjoy it.
echt interessant en deze mensen meenen het dus komt niks in tita of mr of wat dan ok alleen in knot card
grtz roufa!
